Lessons FAQ
Does the private lesson come with a lift ticket or rental gear?
No, the private lessons do not come with a lift ticket or rental gear for the day. Those items will need to be purchased separately either in advance online/over the phone or the day of your lesson in Guest Services or you can come prepared with your own gear and ticket/season pass.
Where do parents/guardians go while their child takes a lesson?
Any accompanying parents or guardians are more than welcome to watch the lesson from our Family Lodge deck and patios at the base area. Parents and guardians are not allowed to watch or follow the participating child on the snow during their lesson due to liability concerns. The parent/guardian must stay on site during the time period of the lesson.
My child is almost 6 years old. Can you place them into a Youth Group Lesson?
No, they will need to be placed in the appropriate lesson based on their age.
My child is almost 13 years old. Can you place them in an Adult/Teen Group Lesson?
No, they will need to be placed in the appropriate lesson based on their age.
Do I have to pay the full price for an Adult/Teen Group Lesson if I have a season pass and my own gear?
No, we offer a discount for anyone 13 and up that has their own season pass/lift ticket AND their own gear. Please let us know by giving our office a call to apply that discount to your lesson. The lesson will cost $100 after the discount.
Do I have to pay the full price for a Youth Lesson if I have a season pass and my own gear?
Yes, we are unable to separate the bundle, it is your choice to use your own gear and not use ours.
What is included with the rental gear package? Do I have to bring my own goggles/gloves/clothes?
The rental gear package includes your skis/snowboard, poles (if you purchased a ski rental package), helmet, and boots! Anything else, including goggles, gloves or clothes, will need to be supplied separately. We do not offer rentals for those items. You are welcome to purchase these items in our Sport Shop before your lesson!
How early do I need to show up for the lesson?
We recommend arriving at least an hour before your scheduled lesson time! On busy weekends and holidays, this is very important, as the parking lot fills up quickly. This early arrival ensures that you find a parking spot, you’re able to check in and get your rental gear in a timely manner before the lesson begins.
I booked an afternoon lesson on a weekend/holiday, how early should I arrive for parking and rentals and check-in?
Even though you booked an afternoon lesson, you will still need to arrive well before the lesson time. Anywhere between 8:00 – 9:00 AM is recommended for arrival on those busy weekends and holidays! You can pick your lift ticket and rental gear up for the day as early as 8:00 AM and use it before your lesson.
My child is booked for a lesson, can I use the conveyor to practice afterwards with my child?
Yes, as long as you both have a lift ticket and are wearing the correct gear (skis/snowboard with boots)!
Can I accompany my child on the snow during their lesson? I don’t have a lift ticket or skis on, I just want to be close.
No – this is considered a liability concern, therefore you will need to stay off of the snow if you do not have a lift ticket and equipment on. You are more than welcome to watch them during their lesson from our decks and patios looking out to the lesson area!
Can I walk onto the snow if I don’t have any gear on or a lift ticket?
No, you need to have a lift ticket and the appropriate equipment on if you plan on being on the snow – even if you aren’t using the chairlifts or conveyor belts.
