Youth Lessons
Dodge Ridge Youth Ski and Ride School
Give your kids the skills and confidence to master the mountain! Our Ski and Ride School offers specialized ski and ride lessons for youth.
• Private Lessons (Ages 4–12): Private lessons offer fully customized instruction, focusing on the specific techniques and terrain essential for your individual skill level.
• Group Lessons (Ages 6–12): Learn with peers in a fun and encouraging environment.
Youth Group Lessons
Ages 6 to 12 – Levels 1-5
Half Day Lessons
- 9:30am – 12:00pm
- 1:30pm – 4:00pm
- 2.5 hour lessons
All Day Lesson
- 9:00am- 3:00pm
- Lunch and snack break Included
Typically 5 – 6 kids* per class
Includes: All-day lift ticket, rental package (skis & boots or snowboard & boots) + helmet. Ticket and rental package can be used for the entire day, before and after the lesson.
- Levels 1-2 include a Lower Mountain Lift Ticket
- Levels 3+ include an All Mountain Lift Ticket
Please arrive at least 1 hour prior to lesson start time to allow time for Check in and equipment fitting.

Youth Private Lessons
Ages 6 to 12 – All Levels
- Customize your lesson for the best possible experience
- Learn one on one or together with a group of up to 4 family or friends (be aware that lessons are taught at the level of the lowest level student in the class)
- Private lessons are offered in 2 hour increments 9:00am, 11:15am or 2:00pm
- Private lesson prices do not include Single Day Lift Ticket or Rental Gear
- To ensure availability, reservations are highly recommended and must be purchased 48 hours in advance

Kinder Private Lesson
Ages 4 and 5 – All Levels
- Lesson is designed for and focused on the younger child, introduction to on snow and terrain most important for your child’s skill level. There is no guarantee they will be able to ski/ride on their own.
- Lift Ticket and Rentals are included for the child
- Parent or Guardian must be available on site during the lesson

Beginner Levels 1 and 2
• Learn how to use equipment
• Learn the Basic skills of Skiing
• Able to control speed and direction
• Ride beginner lifts-conveyor
• Ready to explore Beginner Terrain
SKI Level 2: For Skiers who can control my speed on easy beginner terrain with Wedge turns
• Introduction to beginner Chairlift
• Learn to smoothly link wedge turns
• Control speed by varying turn shape and size
• Comfortable on all beginner Terrain
Intermediate Levels 3 and 4
• Learn to easily control speed on beginner and easy Intermediate terrain
• Start to match skis during the turn
• Learning to skid skis at the finish of the turn
• Introduction to hockey stop
SKI Level 4: For Skiers who are comfortable on Intermediate terrain and starting to match/parallel skis
• Active foot and leg steering for earlier match/parallel of skis
• Able to do hockey stops and edge sets
• Intro to active pole usage
• Comfortable on all Intermediate/ blue terrain
Advanced Level 5-6
• Learning to keep skis parallel during the full turn
• Intro short turns
• Learning to Carve
• Intro to steeps, moguls, powder and terrain park
Snowboard Lesson Level Descriptions
Beginner Levels 1 and 2
• Learn to use equipment & basics of Snowboarding
• Intro to beginner lift-conveyor
• Balance and traverse in both directions
• Control Speed with side slip & falling leaf
• Skidded turn to a stop
SNOWBOARD Level 2: For Riders who can control their speed and stop on easy beginner terrain.
• Review turning and speed control
• Intro to beginner chairlift
• Learning to link toe & heel side turns
• Comfortable on all Beginner terrain
Intermediate Levels 3 and 4
• Learning to make small, medium and large turns
• Link S turns Heel & toe
• Hopping on toe & heel edge between turns in balance
• Introduce Riding switch
• Introduce easy Blue terrain
SNOWBOARD Level 4: For Riders who can change size and shape of turns on Blue terrain.
• Learning to link switch skidded turns
• Introduction to carving
• Flat land freestyle
• Controlled turns on Blue terrain
Advanced Level 5-6
• Control speed linking turns on Black groomed runs
• Riding on various terrain including bumps on Blue terrain
• Exploring more freestyle moves
• Introduction to terrain park on simple features
• Explore Carving on Black terrain
Rescheduling Policy
ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS ON LESSON PRODUCTS.
Lessons may be rescheduled or canceled in exchange for resort credit. Resort Credits do not expire and can be used anywhere at the resort, other than food and beverage.
No refunds will be issued due to weather or snow conditions or if a participant is unwilling to participate in the class. No-shows will forfeit the full amount of the lesson.

Cancellation fees:
• 3 days in advance no fee will be charged.
• 2 days in advance, a $40.00 fee will be charged.
• 1 day in advance, a $60.00 fee will be charged.
Day of cancellations or no shows will be forfeited.
