Responsibility Code
Your Responsibility Code
Know the Code. Share the Mountain.
At Dodge Ridge, we believe every skier and snowboarder shares in keeping the mountain safe.
Following Your Responsibility Code protects you, your friends, and everyone else enjoying the slopes.
The Code: It’s for Everyone
-
- Stay in control.
You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects. Control is your best safety tool on ever-changing mountain terrain. - People ahead of you have the right of way.
It’s your responsibility to avoid them. Always give others plenty of space and time to move. - Stop in a safe place for you and others.
Never stop where you block a trail, landing, or are not visible from above. - When starting downhill or merging, look uphill and yield.
Make sure the way is clear before you drop in. - Use devices to prevent runaway equipment.
A loose ski or board can travel far and fast and can be dangerous to yourself and others. Keep yours secured with proper retention devices. - Observe all signs and warnings, and stay off closed trails.
Markings and closures are there for your safety. Terrain can change quickly with weather, grooming, and snowpack. - Prioritize safety at lifts.
Know how to load, ride, and unload safely. Ask a lift operator for help if you’re unsure. - Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired.
Alcohol, drugs, or fatigue can seriously affect reaction time and awareness. - Know how to use the lifts properly.
Follow all posted instructions and listen to the lift attendants. Every lift is different. - You are responsible for knowing and following the code.
It’s everyone’s job to help make the mountain fun, safe, and open for all.
- Stay in control.
